my favorite book:

Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert.
(and i'm not a conformist! i read this book before it came out in theaters!)
the reason i love this book is that it inspires me to live life more fully. When i read this book, i was traveling in Korea. I still remember the way i felt after i read this; i felt like i could overcome any obstacle in my life and embrace whatever was in front of me.

side note:
it really bothers me to see really selfish people. i wish i could say something, but who am i to judge and correct them? for all i know, i could be just as obnoxious and clueless.
you know what else really bugs me? the fact that i feel like i'm the only one who notices these things. i guess it's another reason why it's so hard for me to get close to certain people-- i almost feel like i can see right through their actions. most people, anyway. sometimes i wish i could be totally oblivious to everything (like some people i know). they seem so much happier and free-spirited.
somewhere along the line, i learned that people aren't reliable, and that i need to question actions and motives before i can trust them. i hate doing this though. As a Christian, i've always been told to love people unconditionally, as Jesus loves me. but man. it's so frikkeeen hard. i guess that's why i gave up. i just got tired of loving people who took me for granted. of people who only know how to receive love, but never return it. of people who are so ungrateful and downright selfish. i just got tired of acting like i loved people when i knew deep down inside that i didn't.
oh love, where is your fire?
